Equans is looking for a Division HSEQ Manager Smart Buildings - Large Projects (Belgium).
What does your role entail?
Providing advice and support to division management in defining the welfare policy. Communicating this policy to the management line and executors, and overseeing its implementation within the division and departments to ensure HSEQ to the maximum extent in line with legislation and internal and external guidelines.
Specifically:
- advising and motivating the DIV and DEM management, and the management line, and informing them about welfare issues to enable them to take on their tasks and responsibilities in this regard
- examining and analyzing the needs, risks, and deficiencies concerning the welfare policy for the assigned division(s) and the relevant management
- assisting in the preparation of HSEQ plans and specific task risk analyses
- providing safety introductions and training for (new) employees to clearly inform them about the applicable instructions and procedures
- defining safety training and target groups to ensure that employees are properly informed about the prevailing safety regulations, the legal requirements in this regard, the specific requirements of certain customers, and specific aspects within the welfare policy framework (VCA)
- conducting various actions to enhance the visibility and raise the safety awareness of the BU and departments
- monitoring the application of all rules and laws through frequent site visits and inspections to enforce the welfare policy on the work floor
- assisting the management line in preparing accident analyses to take appropriate precautionary measures and prevent the recurrence of such accidents
- preparing, approving, and monitoring V-instructions and procedures specific to the activities of the division and departments to comply with both legal and VCA standards
- examining the market for new techniques, products, materials, and systems to enable continuous evaluation of resources and materials
- establishing a trust relationship with all employees and the management line to resolve welfare issues in the workplace as effectively as possible within the assigned BU and departments
- establishing and maintaining external contacts (customers, suppliers, and official bodies) to address potential issues at the source and thereby create and maintain a favorable commercial climate
- providing advice during the tendering process for potential new projects
- reporting various HSE issues using the existing internal tools (one page, Sharepoint, HSEQ-app, etc.)
- attending meetings:
- at the entity level to maintain coherent safety policies throughout the organization
- at the division and department levels to maintain their safety awareness
- participating in the CPBW (Equans Services nv), providing advice on the purchase of work and protection equipment, conducting inspections at various work sites, and participating in BU and department meetings to comply with legislation and strive for continuous improvement of the prevention policies and procedures
- following changes and amendments in legislation to stay correctly informed

- number of direct employees (prevention advisers): 1.5 FTE
What do you need to be successful in this role?
- diploma as an industrial engineer or equivalent through experience
- training as a Prevention Adviser at least level 2
- at least 10 years of experience in installation techniques
- knowledge of ISO 9001 and VCA
- you are a communicative team player who, with a diplomatic attitude, sense of initiative, and persuasive power, delivers quality work
- you are fluent in Dutch and French, with a good knowledge of English
