What if your hands-on experience with industrial boilers could lead complex projects from first bid to delivery?

With us, you’ll combine technical know-how with strategic oversight — ensuring our projects run smoothly, safely, and to the highest standards. Based in Ans, you’ll coordinate on-site activities across Belgium while helping us continuously improve how we operate.

What you’ll be doing

As our Mechanical Project Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind the full lifecycle of industrial boiler projects — from bidding and costing through to execution and final handover. You’ll report to the Section Manager and work closely with various internal and external stakeholders to keep everything on track, on budget, and in line with all safety and quality expectations.

A. Develop & implement bid strategies; do the costing and contribute to bid negotiations with clients by:

  • define and implement a bid strategy to make sure the customer perceives all value
  • defining initial project baselines based on viable technical solutions to meet customer requirements aligned with the business strategy
  • defining the optimal sequence and planning the upcoming project
  • setting up the procurement strategy
  • cost estimation of the mechanical works (welding, craneage, logistics, fabrication, project management)
  • check availability of all resources
  • detect and manage risks and opportunities associated with future projects
  • contract negotiation with customers and major key suppliers
  • follow the governance procedures
  • ensure seamless transition from bid to project phase by participating in the preparation, organization, and validation of project launch and execution
  • make sure the lessons learnt of projects is implemented properly

B. Project Management

  • make a project execution plan and a safety plan
  • cater for a: WBS, OBS, calendar, budget allocation…
  • contract negotiation with subcontractors
  • prepare the site (site base camp, tools, scaffolding…)
  • manage the (skilled) workers by being on site
  • make sure all administrative tasks are fulfilled (check-in-at-work; hour registration; equipment & tool lists; dimona’s; work permits)
  • make sure there is a detailed planning which minimizes co-activity, is efficient and is known/approved to/by all stakeholders
  • follow-up on planning/progress (critical path; budget)
  • adhere to the health and safety plan (work permits, toolbox meeting; enforcement of measures described in HSE plan, Last Minute Risk Analysis …)
  • manage the Quality Control aspect of the project
  • manage the legal and contractual obligations
  • manage variation orders
  • generate the project reporting and the project review meetings
  • finalize the project (documents archiving, expenses permission closing) while documenting and sharing the lessons learned

C. Improve the functioning of the unit ‘Boiler solutions’

  • help to organize things efficiently at the level of the operational unit in terms of invoicing; bookkeeping; abiding to local legislation; finding new subcontractors; evaluating workers; document/data management; explore new operational approaches

What you bring

  • experience in:
    • high-pressure mechanical boiler construction
    • EN 12952 and welding pressure parts
    • full-cycle project and bid management
    • quality control and contract execution
  • solid knowledge of:
    • EN and ASME standards
    • WPS and QC file compilation
    • TIG and electrode welding techniques
  • a solid understanding of contractual obligations
  • ready to work on sites across Belgium
  • fluent in French; English and/or Dutch are definite assets
