• prospecting and managing leads: you identify and assess project opportunities and collaborate with various teams to create technically suitable and innovative solutions
• preparing financial models and offers: you conduct analyses, prepare commercial offers, and lead negotiations for significant project contracts in collaboration with different departments (Legal, Operational). You ensure that volume and price risks are kept to a minimum
• delivering input to commercial software solutions developments on the tri-baggage solutions in order to improve functionality and earnings models
• defining (commercial) strategy in collaboration with the Department Manager where to prioritize and invest for the future
• building relationships: you develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients and stakeholders, understanding their needs and providing persuasive proposals. Since this involves long-term contracts for public tenders and the private market, you are keen to invest your time and knowledge in building these contacts
• building partnerships: you create new relations with external partners in order to offer a complete solution to our clients
• contributing to a positive team dynamic: you build strong partnerships with operational managers and ensure a shared focus on achieving P&L objectives

What do you need to be successful in this role?

• you have a degree in civil, industrial, or commercial engineering or a master's in an economics-related field and possess a good technical understanding
• you have at least five years of experience in business development, sales, and commercial developments
• you possess analytical and organizational skills that enable you to manage complex projects, understand risks, and solve problems
• knowledge and experience in technical design, project management (planning, process management, etc.), coordinating various stakeholders, and closing transactions is a strong plus
• you understand financial concepts
• you are adept at building and maintaining relationships with (potential) clients
• you are independent, flexible, and can work in a multicultural/multilingual environment
• you are fluent in English and French with a good knowledge of the second national language Dutch

About us

Airport Systems is an organizational part of the division Equans Digital within the BU Carbon Shift & Digital. The business focuses on luggage handling systems for mainly medium sized airports. With exception of some large airports (i.e. Brussels Airport). The department delivers total packaged – customized - projects to their customers incl. hardware (electrical power distribution, conveyors) and software (OT-automation, Scada, related IT-services, complex tri-baggage applications/solutions). The delivery scope is partly subcontracted internally or externally. Especially the 3D real-time information provision around baggage handling processes is an added value to customers and plays a mission-critical role on airports. The (remote)monitoring and IT services 24/7 are therefore crucial for success. Airport Systems operates around the globe, but mainly in EU.
